The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) released its three year Service Plan, predicting that it will generate $1.11 billion in revenue from lottery and online gaming operations during the 2013/2014 fiscal year.

BCLC said that it plans to deliver "sustainable and growing" revenue to British Columbia thanks to continued investment in its PlayNow.com online gaming site. The lottery corporation said that it would continue to enhance its bingo, poker and lottery products, and focus on the growth of gaming options for tablet and smart phone users.

BCLC believes that total revenue growth by the end of the 2016/2017 fiscal year will rise 4% to $2.90 billion, with all three gaming channels (bingo, poker and lotto) showing growth.

BCLC eGaming Growth

The BCLC's three year service plan predicts that lotto and e-gaming services will contribute to 40% of the $2.90 billion total.

The lottery corporation intends introducing new products and enhancing existing ones in its egaming channels.

BCLC will also open five new Lotto Signature Stores, it said.

"eGaming growth will come from the continuing operationalization of the casino/poker portfolios, the introduction of multi-jurisdictional bingo, and continued enhancements to sports betting and mobile gaming," said the BCLC.

PlayNow.com Remains Priority for BCLC

BCLC's online gaming operation, PlayNow.com, which has been in operation since 2004, continues to be a focal point of the lottery group's platform, and continues to upgrade its products. In 2010, online casino games were added, while live sports betting was introduced in 2012.

"The continuing evolution of eGaming and the PlayNow platform remains a priority in both the business-to-consumer and business-to-business environment," wrote the BCLC in its plan. "Continuing to offer more games on PlayNow.com, enabling access to other areas of the business, and optimizing interaction on all devices are exciting opportunities in a regulated environment with responsible gambling tools."

"As well, we will continue to look at partnering with other jurisdictions and beyond to further leverage economies of scale and provide a safe and secure world-class entertainment options," added the group.

BCLC plans to leverage the PlayNow.com suite of games in its land based gaming facilities to allow players to enjoy a new type of gaming experience.

"Knowing who are players are and delivering more personalized player experiences based on their needs and preferences remains a key focus," said the group.
