Cowboys Take on Lions is a Battle of 4-3 Teams

One of this week's best match-ups in the NFL is the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions. Both teams come into this game at 4-3. Dallas is in the lead in the NFC East after beating the Philadelphia Eagles last week. The Lions are a half game behind the Green Bay Packers after losing a tough game against the Cincinnati Bengals a week ago.

Tony Romo and the Cowboys seem to always be hanging out near the .500 mark. A win this week would get them two games above .500 which they have rarely been in the last few years. These games are the ones Dallas always seems to figure out how to lose. Will this be the one that gets them over the hump?

Detroit is one of those teams that can hang with just about anybody, but also plays down to their competition. In other words, they always play in a close game. They have a lot of talent, especially on offense with quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Reggie Bush and wide receiver Calvin Johnson. With Christian Fauria at tight end, you'd be hard pressed to five four better at those positions anywhere in the NFL.

Dallas with Romo, Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray can come close though. Dallas has flashes of brilliance on offense and other times they can be very tough on defense. If they can put the two together on the same weekend, they will put a serious beating on someone. At least these two teams are never boring. So this game should be a real white-knuckler.

Cowboys at Lions Odds

Bodog has the Cowboys +3 EVEN and the Lions -3 -120 ATS. Over/Under is 51 with over -115 and under -105.

This game is a tough one to pick because both teams can be so erratic. They are both capable of playing really well one week and pretty bad the next. They are mirror images of one another. They both have the big armed quarterback and the big time wide receiver that can go get the ball. They both have a good pass rush too. The Cowboys have Jason Hatcher, George Selvie and Demarcus Ware who have 15 sacks between them. The Lions counter with Ndamukong Suh, Ziggy Ansah and Willie Young.

The wild card in this game is Reggie Bush. He can break one at anytime and from anywhere. What is scary if you are a Dallas fan is he didn't have a big game last week against the Bengals, so he is due to break out.

We are going to take the Cowboys +3 though. Romo and the Cowboys just seem to be a bit hotter than Detroit right now. We also will take the over.

Another big game in the NFC East is the New York Giants at Philadelphia. Bodog has the Giants +6 -120 and the Eagles -6 EVEN. Over/Under is 51.5. The giants are coming off their first win of the season as they beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-7 on Monday. The eagles are dreadful at home for whatever reason. They are 0-3 there this season. We are going to go with the Giants +6. That does not mean we think they'll win, but we think they can beat the spread. We like the under on this one too.
