Canadian Hard Rock Casino Coming to Vancouver
Boulevard Casino, located in Metro Vancouver, is going to be rebranded into the first Canadian Hard Rock Casino. The Hard Rock Casino brand will create an atmosphere that is geared towards a younger clientele, and will be hipper and hotter than the Boulevard Casino.
The Hard Rock brand will see some changes that will make the casino far more relaxed and casual and far less formal than it has been until now. Staff will no longer be attired in tuxedos and bowties, and they will even be allowed body piercing, which had been banned at the Boulevard Casino.
Hard Rock Casino to be Completed by Winter
The relaunch of the Boulevard Casino as the Hard Rock Casino should be completed by the winter. The Great Canadian Gaming Corporation will be spending millions of dollars on rebranding both the casino floor, which is 80,000 square feet, and the Red Robinson Theatre, which is 12,000 square feet.
While the casino operator wants to bring in the younger crowd, it still has plans to retain the current crowd in the 45 - 50 plus age range. The Hard Rock brand is one that will be comfortable for the current players and will also be the kind of place that the younger clientele will feel comfortable in.
Howard Blank, the Vice President of Communications at the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, said: "It's going to be a place where your parents can come and you can come. It used to be mostly for Dad. Casinos normally attract 45 to 50-plus. We saw Hard Rock Casino break that mould."
He further commented: "Staff are going to be able to high-five the guests. The young people are going to go 'Wow, we really should go there,' Older folks will go 'Hard Rock. We know that.'"
Entertainment is Key at Canadian Hard Rock Casino
Fitting in with the feel and theme of the new Hard Rock branding, the casino plans to focus on entertainment. A number of artists who may not have gone to the Boulevard Casino will be open to performing at a Hard Rock Casino. Apart from the music offerings at the Canadian Hard Rock Casino, there will also be a large choice of eateries, merchandise to buy, and other forms of entertainment available.
For a number of reasons, including a highway being constructed nearby, the Boulevard Casino has been seeing a decline in its revenue. It is expected that this Vancouver casino facelift will inject new life into the casino.
