Seattle Seahawks at Washington Redskins - NFL Playoff Preview and Odds
Nobody wants any part of the Seattle Seahawks right now, that is with the possible exception of the Washington Redskins. Both of these teams come into the playoffs red hot. The Redskins have on seven in a row after starting the season 3-6. The last team to start a season 3-6 and get this far was the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second season of existence in1996. They went all the way to the brink of the Super Bowl that season before falling late in the AFC Championship game to the New England Patriots. Can the Skins make a run like that? They sure do have the potential.
This game will be a lot of fun with the two star rookie quarterbacks, Russell Wilson for the Seahawks facing Robert Griffin III of the Redskins. Can two rookie quarterbacks have had a better season? I don't know, ask Andrew Luck. But we will get to him later.
The Seahawks are far from a one-man show. They have one of the nastiest defenses in the NFL too. Seattle hasn't just been running up big scores on offense, their defense has been shutting folks down all year. In the last several weeks, they had a 58-0 win over Arizona, a 50-17 win over Buffalo and a 42-13 win over the 49ers.
Wilson has people (those of us who are old enough) thinking back to the days of Fran Tarkenton. He his small, but what an athlete! He ducks rushing linemen and darts around while receivers find openings, making them look silly. Redskins lineman had better have their running shoes on Sunday.
Griffin is just a super athlete. He is fast, he is agile and he has a rocket for an arm. Already armed with the leadership skills of a veteran, this guy has all the tools. He came in as the Heisman Trophy winner, which normally is like a huge target on a rookie QB's back. But he was not deterred, not even after the team lost six of the first nine games.
He led Washington to huge wins over every team in the NFC East during the win streak, including two over the hated Dallas Cowboys to put themselves in the playoffs and the Cowboys out.
Both teams also feature star running backs in the Seahawks Marshawn Lynch and the Redskins Alfred Morris. Morris was an unknown but has run for over 1600 yards this season.
If you can only watch one game this weekend, make it this one. They are all going to be really good, but this is the one you will not want to miss.
Seahawks at Redskins Odds
Bodog has the Seahawks -3 1/1 or 4/6. The Redskins are +3 5/6 or 13/10. Over/under is 46.
Our Pick
We definitely like the over in this one. There will be some footballs flying.
We are also going to take the Redskins +3 at home. The one weakness for Seattle is they were 3-5 on the road
