Bet365 Picks eCOGRA as Regulatory Audit Partner
Bet365, a leading UK sportsbook which serves a global market including Canada, has chosen the regulatory auditing and testing agency eCOGRA as its third party testing and certification partner.
Bet365 said that it had identified the need to choose a strategic partner to help it navigate through the changing landscape of global regulations pertaining to online gambling, and therefore selected eCOGRA as its regulatory audit partner.
According to a press release by eCOGRA, "companies are increasingly recognizing the value of partnerships that will oversee and conduct independent audit and testing procedures to streamline the often complicated and varying matrix of national regulatory requirements in newly legislated, as well as existing markets..."
As such, the Stoke-on-Trent based group selected eCOGRA as its strategic partner.
eCOGRA Testing Accreditation
eCOGRA, which was founded in 2003, has a number of objectives, mainly to set and improve operational standards and player safety in the world of online gambling.
Over the many years of its operations, eCOGRA has amassed experience in implementing best international standards of practice, and the group has testing laboratory accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
Its "extensive mix of professional Big 4 audit firm, IT and industry experience, ideally places the firm to perform compliance and audit services across the diverse spread of regulation and testing principles and methodologies being adopted throughout Europe," noted the press release.
The CEO of eCOGRA, Andrew Beveridge spoke about the news that Bet365 picks eCOGRA as an audit partner, and said that his group specializes in providing services to tier 1 software suppliers and operators, and Bet365 meets this requirement.
"eCOGRA looks forward to assisting Bet365 with future certification endeavors while ensuring the group remains compliant in the markets which it currently operates," explained Beveridge.

The Regulatory Compliance and Information Officer for Bet365, Steven Degg said that his group selected eCOGRA based on its "depths of skills, experience of their resources and a successful track record in providing compliance services to other leading operators and software suppliers."
According to Degg, Bet365 has successfully submitted challenging Spanish and Danish certifications in partnership with eCOGRA and the group looks forward to working with the testing and regulatory authority as it expands into new markets.
