Of all the NFL Week 2 matchups scheduled for Sunday, there is no doubt the showdown between the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings should be one of the most exciting, especially as the Vikings will start as the slight -1.5 point betting favorites at most land and online sportsbooks.

The Colts will host the Vikings at Lucas Oil Stadium, their first home game of the 2012-13 NFL Regular season, and their second matchup against an NFC North team. The first being against the Chicago Bears last Sunday, where they were unceremoniously crushed 41-21.

Colts Need First Win of the Season

So with their season opener a disaster, the Colts will obviously be eager to rack up their first win of the season come Sunday, and show their fans and rivals alike that they can recover fast and effectively to start the season in earnest. The game marked the highly anticipated debut of quarterback and No. 1 draft pick Andrew Luck.

Ans while 23-year-old may not have gotten off to the immaculate start many fans had hoped for, that could well be attributed to nerves, having reached the big time. But there is little doubt that the former Stanford quarterback has more than enough skill and talent to make his mark at Indianapolis this season - hopefully, though, sooner rather than later. A win should unlock his confidence and true potential.

Vikings Confidence will be very High

When it comes to the Vikings, they'll no doubt still be riding high in the confidence stakes after they used overtime to dispatch the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend. That game marked the very welcome return of running back Adrian Peterson, who spent much of last season benched after tearing his ACL.

With a clean bill of health, he returned to the field, soon reminding Vikings fans why they missed him as he chalked up a none-too-shabby 84 yards on 17 carries, with two touchdowns. If his health holds this season, he should be an enormous asset to the team.
