$25 Million Lotto Max Winner Revealed
After the August 24th Lotto Max draw, the BCLC waited impatiently for the winner of half the $50 million prize to step forward, and when nobody did, the search began for the lucky player.
It was only after the Vickers family returned to Canada from their vacation in Scotland on Monday, did mum Lesley decide to take her lottery ticket to the Burnaby lotto kiosk and check her 10 day old ticket.
Incredibly, she found that the numbers which the family have been playing for over 20 years finally paid off, and that the lottery winners were none other than the Vickers family themselves, netting themselves a cool $25 million from the Lotto Max draw.
Recalling how she broke the news to her husband, Mark, the winner said: "I think that he thought I was in an accident or something."
Lesley said that the family had a lovely holiday in Scotland but "if we'd known [that we had won the lottery], maybe we'd have stayed longer."
Vickers Family Stunned at their Windfall
The Vickers were quite stunned at their massive windfall. "It's overwhelming," said Lesley. "A very big number."
Asked how they intend spending the prize, the $25 million Lotto Max winner Lesley explained that family definitely came first.
"We have a very large family," said Lesley. "Mark has eight siblings and we have lots of cousins. We'll spread it around."
$10 Million Lotto Max Jackpot Tonight
After all the excitement surrounding the Vickers Lotto Max jackpot win, thousands of Canadians are rushing to purchase tickets ahead of tonight's big draw with an estimated $10 million up for grabs.
Friday night excitement can be maximized with this great paying lottery, where weekly jackpots begin at $10 million. Should nobody win the jackpot, the prize will be rolled over until it reaches $50 million, after which time, $1 million MaxMillions are added to the kitty, over and beyond the top $50 million prize.
