Lotto Max Offers $50 Million Jackpot Prize
The last Lotto Max draw on March 16th didn't see a winner of the main jackpot, which means that this week's prize is again $50 million. The draw will take place tonight, Friday 23rd of March.
The difference between last week and this week, however is that because the prize wasn't won in the last draw, there are more Maxmillions than ever. This week, there will be an estimated fourteen $1 million Maxmillions prizes up for grabs - which means a total prize pool of up to $64 million!
Maxmillions are additional $1 million prizes that are drawn once the Lotto Max jackpot reaches $50 million. These draws are separate from the main jackpot draw and players need to match all seven numbers drawn for that particular Maxmillions draw. This Friday will see an estimated 14 such draws taking place.
Any Maxmillions not won are carried forward to the next draw, as long as the $50 million Lotto Max prize is not won either.
Lotto Max Popular in Ontario
The Ontario Lottery and Gambling Corp. has seen a huge surge in the number of lottery tickets sold ahead of Friday's draw, and there is still time to purchase tickets.
While there were no main winners last week, one lucky player from Toronto won his share in the second prize pool and took home just under $300,000.
The Lotto Max lottery has certainly been kind to Ontarians since it launched in September 2009. In fact, Lotto Max players from this province have won over $1.1 billion in prizes, and this includes no less than 20 jackpot wins and 117 Maxmillions tickets.
Last Friday's winning numbers were 05 - 07 - 18 - 24 - 28 - 41 - 49 and bonus number 26.
