Bellator, a company which promotes Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), has confirmed that the first international event of its fighting championships, will take place in Ontario next month.  The event will be brought to Canada by Orion Sports Management.

Casino Rama will host the event, which is in response to the growing popularity of MMA in Ontario and the rest of Canada.

The Vice President of Casino Rama, Jeff Craik, said: "MMA is the hottest sport in Ontario right now and we're thrilled to be able to partner with this world leader to bring Ontario fans the first taste of Bellator action."

The event, which is scheduled for July 23rd and will be aired live on MTV2, will feature the Bellator Featherweight World Champion, Joe Warren in a fight against Season 4 Featherweight Tournament winner Patricio Pitbull.

The semi finals of the Bellator Featherweight Summer Series Tournament will also be hosted at Casino Rama, with the winners moving into the finals in August.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bellator, Bjorn Rebney said: "Our fans have been asking us to come to Canada since our first season. Casino Rama is an unbelievable venue and should make for a magical night of fights at Bellator 47."
