When Comedy Central launched its animated TV show, South Park in 1997, nobody dreamed that Trey Parker and Matt Stone's creation would become so hugely popular among audiences around the world.

Now still going strong, the show has a devoted following of millions and is considered one of the channel's highest rating offerings. It's not surprising that South Park is slated to run until at least 2016.

This week I heard that the casino software group, Net Entertainment has managed to excite its players by tapping into the popularity of South Park and launching a new branded video slot game.

The game was unveiled at the recent ICE gaming conference in London, and Net Entertainment said that the game will soon be available at the online casinos in its network.

Black Humor Meets Online Gambling

I've always been a big fan of the TV show, South Park, which revolves around the lives and adventures of four boys in their Colorado town - Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, Stan Marsh and Kenny McCormick.

South Park is popular for its uncouth language and dark humor, and is aimed at adult audiences. The show is more than satirical - it is a 'knows-no-bounds' type show where the term politically correct flies out the window, therefore shocking and amusing viewers simultaneously.

I think that South Park is popular precisely due to the perfect blend between childish, animated graphics and adult content, very similar to the world of online slots.

While slots are reminiscent of arcades and youthful fun, they also have an edgier, more adult side through the real money betting options. Net Entertainment has hit the nail on the head by taking one of the most sought after brands in the entertainment world and turning it into what should become a sought after online slot game.

Net Entertainment Branded Slots

Creating online slots from top brands is not a new concept. Playtech, for example, did it with award winning films such as Gladiator and Pink Panther, as well as the entire Marvel slots collection of games.

Net Entertainment has also rolled out some great branded slots in its time and has used the ICE Conference as a platform to introduce these games to the industry.

In 2011, Net Ent unveiled Frankenstein slots to its players, and last year it was the turn of Scarface slots to make its debut. Each of these games has gone on to become a fantastic addition to the Swedish group's expanding portfolio, and there is no doubt that South Park online branded slot will be well received by players.

South Park online slot will be rolled out Net Entertainment powered online casinos, many of them already popular gaming destinations for Canadian gamblers.

Casino Luck, for example, offers players a 100% match bonus up to $150 on their first deposit, and carries a fantastic selection of Net Ent games.

The site supports multiple banking methods and is also available in Flash no-download format for instant gaming options.
