Launched earlier this year by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, PlayNow.com was Canada's first ever government-sanctioned online casino which, despite some early and highly embarrassing teething problems, is now reportedly doing a brisk trade amongst online gambling fans in the province.

Which is part of the reason why Loto Quebec also hopped aboard the 'legalized and regulated' online gambling bandwagon with the launch of its own online gambling website last week called Espacejeux.com, which by all reports is so far proving to be a big hit amongst online gambling fans in Quebec.

Unlike PlayNow.com, Espacejeux.com went live without a hitch and was widely publicized thanks to a multi-million dollar marketing budget designed to inform gambling fans in Quebec that they can now gamble online with peace of mind, knowing that the online casino is safe, secure and Canadian-friendly.

Players that sign up with Espacejeux.com can enjoy a host of online casino games including poker, blackjack, roulette and other popular table games. However, if Espacejeux.com has one major drawback, it's that it does not currently offer online slots for some bizarre reason, which will not sit well with slot fans.

But that 'teeny' foible aside, Espacejeux.com is a slick, professional and easy-to-navigate site that is available in both French and English, and is expected to attract as many as 20,000 player sign-ups before Christmas and generate as much as $50 million in taxable online gambling revenues by December 2012.

There is also a hope amongst online gambling fans in the province of Ontario, that their government will be the next in Canada to jump aboard the online gambling bandwagon in 2011. Meanwhile, there are also reports that tribal leaders in Canada's Saskatchewan province are open to online gambling operations.
