How A Lack Of Superstition May Have Sank Me at Party Casino
Now, I'm not what you'd call a superstitious person. What I mean is that I eat black cats that cross my path for breakfast (though not really as I'm allergic to fur balls), I spit on numbers 7 and 13 because I can, I picnic under ladders because I love how the shadows of the rungs fall across my paisley tablecloth and as for four leaf clovers, I sneer at them, after all what's wrong with the regular three leaf variety?
The sister site of the ever popular Party Poker
However, something happened to me last week which almost caused me to rethink my anti-superstition stance. Let me explain. As an avid Canadian online gambling fan, I am forever playing at Canadian-friendly online casinos and by that I mean online casinos that accept CAD as a currency and, where applicable, offer Canadian-focused promotions and bonuses. And one such casino that I have frequented for many years is Party Casino, the sister site of the ever popular Party Poker.
So on Monday last week, I found myself at Party Casino, having made a decision to play there all week. And being in the mood for video slots, I headed over to the slots section of Party Casino's lobby, where I spent a good five minutes perusing the list of available slots which is pretty impressive to say the least. Having played most slots at one time or another, I was looking for a new slot game or at least one I hadn't played in a while. And what I eventually settled on was a progressive jackpot called Super Star slots.
Super Star slots' novel space theme and features
Super Star slots' novel space theme appealed to me right away as did its 5-reel and 9-pay lines, as well as its scatters, wilds, bonus game and of course progressive jackpot, which was sitting at just under $2 million. When I saw how huge the jackpot was, I knew I had found my game. Having had a very good week last week at another online casino, I was pretty flush and could thus afford an online gambling budget of $100 per day for the week ahead - not a penny more and not a penny less.
And here's how I did over the course of the week: On Monday I logged off $82 down (from my original $100 stake). On Tuesday I logged off $120 up, on Wednesday $34 down, on Thursday $323 up and on Friday $135 down. ( I only played for five days because I went camping on the weekend). So as you can see, all in all I had a pretty decent week at Party Casino.
Winning the almost $2 million jackpot
But imagine my horror when first thing this morning I read about a fellow Party Casino player known as 'Cameeq8' who with a single $50 deposit and a single session on Super Star slots at Party Casino at some point last week won $4,500 before winning the game's almost $2 million jackpot ($1,986.161 to be exact). The last time I cried was when I saw The Champ as a kid, but I don't mind telling you that I came very close to shedding a tear or two when I read about Cameeq8's good fortune. And I found myself wondering why it was her and not me who became an instant millionaire.
It goes without saying that my wondering went unanswered. But I did recall thinking - if just for a split second - if I might have won all that moola if I'd been at all superstitious, and played Super Star slots with a lucky rabbit's foot or a sprig of heather in hand. But I guess I'll never know.
