Gambling Summit Coming to Toronto

Future of Gaming in Canada to be held in October

The Canadian Institute announced that it will be hosting an interesting summit on gambling in Canada in October.

The event, entitled The Future of Gaming in Canada, will be held in Toronto on October 24th and 25th at the Sutton Place Hotel.

According to a press release, "this summit not only features discussions on some of the most pressing topics within the Canadian gaming industry, but will also showcase an outstanding array of gaming industry leaders who will provide you with the acumen required to confront your most pressing concerns."

Some of the biggest names in Canadian and North American gambling will be represented at the event, including the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, MGM Resorts International, the American Gaming Association and Casino Rama.

The keynote speaker of the event will be Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jnr, who will address the audience with a talk on The Relationship Between Land Based and Online Gambling.

Important Topics to be Covered

The Future of Gaming in Canada summit will discuss the future trends in the industry, as well as developments that are important to the local gaming market.

Some of the highlights of the conference will be, according to the press release:

  • An analysis of Recent Class Actions and the State of the Law regarding Problem Gambling and Voluntary Self Exclusion.
  • Speed networking sessions to meet top industry execs.
  • A talk by the senior vice president of human resources at MGM Resorts International entitled: "Boosting Employee Engagement and Morale: The future of Casino Employees - From 'Just a Job' to a Career."
  • A power panel discussion of CEOs entitled: The Changing Face and Client Base of Land Based Gaming in Canada.
